I've been a passionate artist since childhood. Through experimenting with drawing, painting, clay, and more, I noticed how creating impacts mood and well-being. I went on to study art therapy, and I've utilized therapeutic art in many of my processes.
Therapeutic art can help people discover uncovered issues with food, with family, our with our own bodies. There is no pressure to create with therapeutic art. The insights are found along the way and throughout the process, with no concern towards the final result.
I work with mothers, children, and families in Fargo, North Dakota, Bismarck, North Dakota, Moorhead, Minnesota, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and throughout the Red River Valley.
For example, doodling and journaling can help a parent on their peaceful parenting journey. Drawing and writing about our thoughts -- regardless of any artistic talent -- can help produce a tangible record of our feelings, concerns, and desires. We can explore triggers, temperaments, and family dynamics through free-flowing journaling.
Therapeutic art can also be used to prepare for birth. Writing and doodling can help address any untapped birthing fears. Parents can feel empowered and ready for their parenting journey, after exploring their emotions and expectations.
